Who we are
We are part of the global academic community. Formed ten years ago by a group of universities to advertise their own vacancies, jobs.ac.uk has grown into the largest and most successful international specialist jobsboard for academic, research, and professional positions.
We average 3000 job postings on the site at any one time. With over 500,000 unique users a month, that gives a ratio of around 170 jobseekers per vacancy.
Our jobseekers are highly qualified (95% with first degree or equivalent professional qualification, 68% with higher degrees). They are also truly international, visiting from 225 countries and territories in the course of a year.
Over 199,000 of them choose to receive updates on new postings directly by e-mail (daily or weekly), and of these 69% have specified North America as a work destination of choice.
Over the past 10 years we have run recruitment ads from around 4000 universities and other academic and research employers from all parts of the world.
And we are still based at, and run by, a university.
